   Джеймс Хилтон (1900-1954) родился в Англии и воспитывался в Кембридже, где он написал свой первый роман, " Сама Катрин". Его первый большой успех шел с публикацией романа "Прощайте Мистер Чипс". Роман был поставлен по его сюжету, был снят фильм «Потерянный горизонт», изданный в 1933, получил награду. Некоторые других книги автора: "Мы не одни" (1937), "Собранный Урожай" (1941), "Ничто так ни странно" (1947), "Время и время опять " (1953). Проживающий в Соединенных Штатах с 1935, он умер в Лонг-Бич, Калифорния.

This story is about a young man who worked in a boarding school for boys. When he prepared for his first lesson he was very nervous. At 5 past seven started the lesson but at a quarter past seven a boarding of desk lid at the far end of the hall. And Speed told the pupils that he would punish disorder. Then Speed consulted the map of the desks that wall in front of him, and discovered that the boy's name was - Worsley. And he punished the boy. He told that Worsley had 100 lines.
Then one of the boys rose and said that he was Worsley, but professor punished the boy because he was sitting in his wrong desk.
That night Speed went to the Clanwell's room for a chart before bedtime. Clanwell told him that the boys had prepared a star benefit performance for him but Speed put them off some way.
